2024 Lighthouse Calendar
From the crew of the good ship Azimuth!
We, the crew of Sailing Vessel Azimuth, present the 2024 Lighthouse Calendar.
In the spring of 2021, we sailed west under the Golden Gate Bridge and turned south for a 9000-mile voyage to the Chesapeake Bay. With a top speed of 7 miles/hour, we dropped anchor in seven countries and five tectonic plates. We experienced countless shifts in accents, biomes, and cultures. The whole thing was incredibly difficult yet doable, awesome in every sense of the word.
We found our way using nautical charts that represented the knowledge of hundreds of years of active wandering. Much of our time was spent outside the view of land, either shrouded in darkness at nighttime or too far offshore. Lighthouses confirmed that we were indeed where we thought we were, and close to another safe arrival.
